RAM Media Foundation develops and supports programs that expand access to information, creativity, and collaboration across Borrego Springs. Each initiative is designed to build awareness, preserve culture, and strengthen the shared voice of the desert community.

Community Radio 

KRAM 90.5 FM provides public radio service to Borrego Springs and the Borrego Valley. Operated by the nonprofit Ram Media Foundation, the station broadcasts KPBS and NPR programming, giving residents and visitors access to regional and national news, public affairs, and educational programming by radio and online.

About Ram Media Foundation

Ram Media Foundation is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) public charity that strengthens community through local media and creative communication.


Our mission is to amplify local voices, keep Borrego Springs informed and connected, and share the community’s story.


We publish the Borrego Sun digitally, carrying on the Valley’s news source since 1949, and keep the Borrego Sun Archive, a digital collection that preserves the community’s history for future generations.


We also operate KRAM 90.5 FM, a non-commercial public radio station. It carries KPBS and NPR programming, brings trusted news and information to the Borrego Valley, and broadcasts Borrego Springs across the greater San Diego region.


Every project we undertake centers on storytelling, cultural expression and public engagement.

Salton Sea Tales Giving Back

Salton Sea Tales is a creative, story-driven look at California’s inland sea. Net proceeds from all sales—paperback, Kindle, and Audible—are donated to Ram Media Foundation, supporting awareness of the ecological crisis at the Salton Sea.
